Silicon fab transformed through CHIPS: A new US 200mm foundry launches to deliver power innovation and high-volume manufacturing
As the global demand for energy-efficient solutions continues to rise, the power semiconductor industry is rising to the challenge through innovations in process technologies, materials, and designs. Amid this multi-faceted approach to providing solutions, the need for robust domestic foundry sources has become increasingly critical. This presentation will explore how Polar Semiconductor, empowered by the CHIPS Act, is addressing this challenge with the launch of a new 200mm foundry dedicated to pioneering power device innovation and high-volume manufacturing. Positioned at the forefront of the semiconductor industry’s transformation, this facility is engineered to meet the continually more complex demands of the future, providing a versatile platform for both established and emerging power technologies. The talk will delve into the strategic importance of building resilient, U.S.-based semiconductor manufacturing capabilities, and how this initiative will help secure the nation’s leadership in the power semiconductor sector while reinforcing the supply chain for industries that depend on cutting-edge power solutions.
